Where is the Rafa Nadal Museum?
The Rafa Nadal Museum is located at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, the sports complex he himself promoted in Manacor. This town is his hometown, where he grew up and where he started hitting balls with his uncle Toni.
His way of honouring his roots was to build this space to give fans, professionals, young people, and the little ones at home the chance to train with the best coaches and in top-notch facilities.
It opened its doors in 2016 with the aim of bringing his vision of what elite athlete training should be to life—and he’s certainly achieved it! It has welcomed young talents from all over the world who come to Manacor to train not only in sport, but also academically.
What the museum’s exhibition rooms are like
Overall, it’s a modern, very well-kept space where you’ll find an exhibition of hundreds of real items—trophies, rackets, kits—as well as several interactive technology areas that we’ll talk about later.
Rafa Nadal trophy exhibition
The heart of the Rafa Nadal Museum is, inevitably, the exhibition of his achievements. And the word “impressive” doesn’t even begin to cover it when you see it all together. The collection includes trophies and replicas from the Grand Slams, the Masters 1000, the Davis Cups, Olympic medals, and many other titles he amassed over more than two decades at the top.
And he keeps his 14 Roland Garros titles especially close to his heart, as clay was always his favourite stage and also where he built much of his career.
Kits and rackets
In addition to the trophies, the exhibition includes a selection of rackets and kits used in matches… the real thing! The sleeveless tops, the signature bandanas the athlete wears, and the outfit lines he’s used over the years—with fashion changes included—are also well worth seeing.
Personal items
At the Rafa Nadal Museum there’s a section dedicated to the most personal moments of the tennis player’s career: photos, documents, and personal items the athlete is very fond of.
Here you’ll also find references to his relationship with his family, with his uncle and coach Toni Nadal, with Manacor—of course!—and with Mallorca.
Interactive experiences and simulators at the Rafa Nadal Museum
This is where the Rafa Nadal Museum Xperience makes the leap that sets it apart from other exhibition venues. The technology used throughout the visit is one of its biggest strengths, designed so you don’t just observe—you take part and fully immerse yourself in the experience.
The serve simulator
Without a doubt, this is one of the museum’s most popular activities—and where you’ll have the most fun. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to try serving like a world number one? In this simulator you can test yourself and try to replicate Rafa Nadal’s exact serving mechanics.
Thanks to a system of sensors and screens that analyse your movement in real time, you’ll be able to see every detail of your technique and compare it directly with his. It’s a super fun and eye-opening experience that helps you understand the complexity behind every shot. Dare to measure your power and accuracy!
Virtual reality tours
Can you imagine feeling the pressure of Roland Garros’ centre court or the grass of Wimbledon under your feet? The museum offers you incredible virtual reality experiences that will take you on a journey through the most exciting milestones of Nadal’s career.
To take part, all you have to do is put on the VR headset and enjoy the show.
Interactive screens and timeline
Throughout the tour you’ll find interactive screens designed for you to explore Rafa Nadal’s career at your own pace. You’ll be able to browse his professional timeline, stop at your favourite matches, and dive deeper into the details that interest you most.
You’ll also have the chance to analyse his stats compared with other tennis greats and relive his most iconic wins through his most famous videos.
