The first stage of the IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia 2026 is a 1.9 km open water swim near Alcúdia Harbor. Water temperature is usually around 17 °C. Along the route, you will see two yellow buoys that must be rounded on the outside.

Then, a red buoy signals a 90‑degree left turn. Shortly after, another red buoy indicates a second 90‑degree turn back toward the shore. Finally, two yellow buoys guide you to the beach to start the next stage.

After the transition, participants will ride 90 km by bike. From km 21, the road begins to climb with gradients between 1 and 4 %. Between km 24 and 28, there are steep sections of up to 15 %, the toughest part of the course. Then, cyclists ascend to the top of the Sierra de Tramuntana, reaching a summit of 565 meters.

From km 35, after passing Lluc, a long descent leads to Campanet. Then, on mostly flat terrain, the route passes through Muro, turns north towards the Albufera, goes through La Puebla, and returns to Alcúdia.

Finally, you will run through the streets of Alcúdia, with much of the course along the beach and views of the Mediterranean Sea.

This stage consists of 3 laps of 7 km each along the bay. Weather permitting, you can enjoy the scenery and refresh yourself at certain points. The finish line is near, and crossing it completes a total of 113 km. Temperatures are usually around 25 °C.

How long does it take to do the half Ironman Mallorca?

This will vary greatly depending on your level. However, depending on the distance, we’ll make a small approximation for an intermediate level. The first stage of the swim can be completed at rate of about 2 minutes per 100 metres. In other words, around 38 minutes.

The 90 km of cycling is feasible at an average of 30 km per hour, as it is quite favourable. It will take about 3 hours. Finally, the 21 km run can be completed in about an hour and a half at approximately 15 km per hour.

Therefore, the total time for the Mallorca half Ironman will be about five hours. The winner of the previous edition achieved a time of 3 hours and 57 minutes, something that very few participants can do.
